Which Apple products are actually a good deal for Prime Day?
There are some deals on Apple products as long as you don't need the latest gear.
Let's look at which Apple products are actually a good deal this week, whether it's through Amazon or one of the other retailers having a sale.
AirPods
AirPods Pro 2 are on sale for $149.99, down from their $249 retail price.
What you need to know: The AirPods Pro 2 are almost three years old—first released in September 2022. There are strong indications that the next version will be out soon. Maybe they'll come out in September at the next iPhone event.
Is it a good deal? Yes. This is still a good deal as long as you'd rather save money, rather than have the latest tech.
The regular AirPods 4 with ANC are on sale for $119, down from $179. These are my favorite AirPods. They won't serve you well on an airplane, but they do cut out a lot of random background noise. Plus, they're super small and sound fantastic.
The AirPods Max are also on sale for $429.99, down from $549, but these still aren't a good deal. You should consider the Bose Headphones Ultra or Sony 1000XM5 for $298 if you want premium, ANC headphones.
AirTag
A four-pack of AirTags is $67.99, coming out to $16.99 each—normally $99 for four.
What you need to know: Apple released the AirTag four years ago. There are rumors of a second generation coming, but the time frame isn't clear on its release. Beyond better tracking range, the other improvements aren't obvious either.
Is it a good deal? Yes. If you've been itching to try the product or need more AirTags to track more things, like adding one to your luggage, then this is a good deal, worth buying.
Apple Watch
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is $649, down from $799.
What you need to know: There will presumably be a new Apple Watch Ultra in September.
Is this a good deal? Kinda. The Ultra 2 skipped a few upgrades last year, like a processor bump and the latest screen technology, so the new Ultra 3 will likely feel like a big deal. If you just want to save some money on a big watch, then this isn't a bad value.
Apple TV+
You can get Apple TV+ through Amazon Prime for $4.99 a month, instead of the regular $9.99 price.
What you need to know: This deal runs for two months, so you'll save $10 total.
Is it a good deal? Not really. If you've never tried Apple TV+ before, you can find lots of different offers out there for multiple months for free.
But if you've exhausted all your free trial options, then this is as good of an option as anything else. If you want to watch Apple's shows on an ongoing basis, then you might want to look into subscribing to Apple One.
