This power bank is liquid-cooled, and that’s not even its best feature

The Ugreen MagFlow Pro Magnetic Power Bank 10K doesn’t look all that different from other premium power banks on the market. But it has two significant differences that immediately stand out to me: it’s liquid-cooled, and it has an information-packed screen.

As a technology writer for over a decade, I’ve tested and accumulated hundreds of power bank batteries. I was intrigued by the liquid cooling feature because these power devices can get hot. But it was the petite screen that offers compelling, usable information that really caught my eye.

This 10,000mAh battery can be used via MagSafe on an iPhone, or with its USB-C cable on nearly any device. It’s versatile enough for work, travel, and just around the house.

What’s up with the look of this power bank?

The look of the MagFlow Pro 10K largely revolves around a dark green plastic section. That’s the company’s CryoPulse technology. You can see little bubbles flowing up through different channels. In addition to helping keep the unit cooler, it gives the power bank a bit of a futuristic look.

There’s nothing you need to do with the cooling. It doesn’t feel cold on the exterior. You can’t turn it off or on. It’s just part of the unit. 

The key part of this unit is a tiny screen

Second to the design and cooling, the most important part is the tiny screen. The button on the bottom of the device cycles through different information with each press. Of course, it will show the basic battery level. But it also shows the number of cycles, battery health, input power, output power, and shows an indicator of whether it’s using wired or wireless charging.

In the past, power banks with displays only showed battery level. The MagFlow Pro Magnetic Power Bank will even show the time remaining until the battery is fully charged.

Instead of just blankly guessing how much power is remaining, or how fast the unit is charging, this device gives you all that info. After using so many different external batteries over the years, I think that information is critical to a good experience. So, the feature may be physically small, but it has a huge impact on everyday use.

There's one detail I wish were different

I’m a big fan of almost everything about this power bank, except one. The way the USB-C cable hooks into its plastic holder to create a hand loop doesn’t always stay completely secured.

When you hook it into the plastic piece, you can feel it jiggle a little bit. I haven’t actually had it come out, but it always seems like it might. I wish there had been a tiny magnet added to keep the cable from shifting around. Maybe on the next version.

Still, the cable is valuable for more than one reason. Not only does it allow seamless connection to devices like MacBooks or iPads, but it charges even faster with the wire. Instead of the Qi2 25W, the cable offers up to 45W of power—more than full speed for a MacBook Neo.

Should you buy the Ugreen MagFlow Pro Magnetic Power Bank 10K?

The Ugreen MagFlow Pro Magnetic Power Bank 10K has enough capacity to fully charge your phone or give your laptop a boost when it’s running on empty. The device is compact enough to slide into your back jeans pocket. It even has a 45W USB-C cable attached so you don’t need to bring an extra one along.

I wish the looping cable felt even more secure, like it would never come undone from its hand strap configuration, but all the other features make up for that quibble. Specifically, the info packed into the screen, like time remaining, feels critical to good daily use. The liquid cooling, on the other hand, is just plain neat.
