There's more to this iPhone keyboard than it seems at first glance
The Clicks Power Keyboard adds a physical typing experience to iPhones, Android devices, TVs, and lots of other devices.
At its core, it seems like the company Clicks wants to recreate the magic that a lot of people felt while typing on a BlackBerry device. The company first tried making a keyboard case, but that required making your iPhone bigger and bulkier a lot of the time.
Now, the new Click Power Keyboard takes a new approach with its MagSafe-compatible magnetic attachment. When you want a physical keyboard to hammer out emails, you can stick it to the back, even if you use a case. When you don’t want it, it can be removed and stored away.
The new device retails for $109—$79 for pre-orders. Based on the response to the product’s announcement, it seems like a lot of people like the idea of adding a physical keyboard to their mobile phone. I cover gadgets for a living, so it’s hard not to be idealistic about the Power Keyboard. But should it really be that tempting to most people?
The features of the Clicks Power Keyboard that make it interesting
While the Clicks Power Keyboard has a few neat features, two aspects make it worth considering. The first is its magnetic attachment. If you upgrade your phone regularly, you should be able to keep using it year after year.
The other aspect is its multi-point Bluetooth connectivity. It’s not just for phones. Essentially, the device is a tiny universal keyboard that can be connected to other Bluetooth devices like an Apple TV, iPad, Vision Pro, Android device, or Windows machine. It’s flexible.
The value of a gadget drops really low when it only works in a very narrow set of circumstances. The first Clicks keyboard case only fit on one specific phone. That was a high price to pay for a single-use product. I like the idea of being able to use this one across several different devices, even if it won’t fit on a future iPhone.
Beyond typing, you should be able to use the Power Keyboard as a backup battery, charging wirelessly at 5 watts.
Should you spend money on the. Clicks Power Keyboard?
The Clicks Power Keyboard is set to be released in the “spring.” No clear timing available yet. The pre-order price is $80 and will go up to $110. While the product comes from a small startup, the team successfully delivered its initial products to customers.
If it’s something you’re interested in, I don’t think there’s any reason not to pull the trigger.

Separate from the Power Keyboard, the company also debuted the Clicks Communicator. This is billed as a companion device, focused on messaging, because of its dedicated keyboard. It runs Android 16 and has a custom skin to highlight messages.
The interesting thing is that it has all the pieces to be your only phone, if you want it to be. You can reserve it now, until February 27, for $400, a $100 off its full price of $500. It will ship later in 2026. While I don’t need the Communicator, it looks rad. The launch video above makes a solid sales pitch for it. It’s probably a tempting device for a lot of people.
I do like that it’s not a cut-rate device. It has front and back cameras, a touch-sensitive keyboard to use for gesture control, 256GB of storage, and Qi2 wireless charging, among other modern features.
The Clicks Power Keyboard is the device that will likely appeal to most people. I’m not sure how many people are ready to add a second phone, yet. Regardless of how popular the Communicator ends up being, it’s completely fascinating.
