How I’d spend $500: Sonos Ace Ultra
Sonos' second attempt at wireless headphones comes with a heavy refinement in the features department—and minimal visual ones. The company says the ANC is twice as good as the first Ace. The headphones also get more deeply integrated into your home Sonos system with what the company is calling "Fabric." You can pull any audio from any Sonos speaker into the headphones just by being near it and pushing a button.
Value Score: Fair
Wireless headphones that cost $450 are a fair value? In this economy, yes. If the Ace Ultra perform like the company says, and I wouldn't have a reason to believe otherwise, then frequent travelers are going to want to jump on these.
How I’d spend $150: Rision Magic Thermal Camera
If you've never played around with a thermal camera, you're missing out. It can show temperatures of anything, just by looking at it. This Rision Magic Thermal Camera adds the capability to your phone by plugging it into the USB-C port.
The camera has a temperature range of -4°F to 1,112°F (-20°C to 600°C) with a professional-grade ±3.6°F accuracy. I've used the company's new Pro model, debuting soon. It's fun to see how much heat certain objects have in real-time. Of course, you can use this tool for home DIY, automotive needs, weatherproofing, and all kinds of tasks.
Value Score: Fair
The thermal camera is on sale for $139 right now, which is 30% off. But there's also an Amazon coupon that brings it down to $119. While the Pro model is coming, this is a cheaper way to try it out at a lower cost.
How I’d spend $50: Anker Nano 45W
I reviewed Anker's 45W Nano Charger back in January. It's a neat power adapter because its folding prongs can rotate 180 degrees. No matter how the power strip or wall outlet is situated, it should be able to plug in just fine.
I was less convinced about the screen, but it also doesn't hurt it. Plus, when you plug in an iPhone, the charger will identify the phone, show the model, and power it efficiently. Coming September 30, the Nano will even get an over-the-air update to recognize the new iPhone 18 Pro models.
Value Score: Fair
$30 for a 45W power adapter that can fast-charge a phone and a MacBook Neo is a fair deal. It isn't quite as small as others, but its rotating prongs and display make up for a tiny bulk.
The winning pick: Rision Magic Thermal Camera
I think the Rision Magic Thermal Camera is a neat addition to a toolkit. It might be a bit of a splurge if you don't know what needs temperature checks around your house, but it's a cool tool if you can find any use for it.

An expensive pick: Insta360 Luna Pro
I've been using the Insta360 Luna Ultra gimbal camera for a few months, and it's amazing as a do-it-all video camera. Now, the company has a single-lens option that keeps the main camera and drops the second telephoto lens. This brings the price down without compromising the product. In fact, it's a tiny bit better and able to do vertical 4K. While I like the telephoto capabilities from time to time, I don't need it. I could live without it. This is the model I would have picked for general filming on-the-go, had it been out then.
