This magnetic power bank gets the basics right—and adds one smart feature

There are plenty of power banks to choose from, but Ugreen’s latest, the MagFlow Air 10K, offers multiple charging options in a sturdy, unassuming design.

It can wirelessly charge compatible phones with 15 watts of power using its Qi2 tech. It can also supply up to 30 watts of power using its integrated USB-C cable.

I’ve been using the MagFlow Air 10K for a couple of months, and it’s been a reliable source of extra battery power, from charging my iPhone to my MacBook Neo and AirPods.

The MagFlow Air 10K might not be overly exciting to look at. It doesn’t break new ground in the design department, but it is easy to carry and travel with. Arguably, the most important aspects.

The integrated cable is the standout feature

It might seem a little counterintuitive that the standout feature for a magnetic battery meant to stick to the back of a phone and charge wirelessly with Qi2 is a cable. But it is. This is the feature that ultimately makes it worth considering.

Because as great as charging with Qi2 is, sometimes I just need more power for a faster charge than 15 watts. Or you need to charge non-wireless products. The integrated cable can provide 30 watts, so when my phone is low, under 50%, I can add more battery life in a much shorter time.

The attached USB-C cable can deliver power, but it can also receive power. So it can be plugged into a wall adapter for recharging. You shouldn’t ever really need to carry a power cable with you for this device.

You can use the cable for a secondary device and power multiple things at once from the battery. With the USB-C port, integrated cable, and Qi2 charger, you can charge three devices at once.

Charging three phones won’t get each one a lot of extra battery life, but it can be done. In my opinion, the 10,000mAh capacity is a sweet spot for battery life and size.

A 10K battery should get an iPhone 17 around one and a half full charges. It should get a 17 Pro Max close to one full charge.

Even though this capacity won’t fully charge an iPad or MacBook Neo, these devices can still be topped up or used with this battery. That’s another reason I think the MagFlow Air 10K’s best feature is its integrated cable. It makes it a completely versatile power bank for most needs.

Uncomplicated use

One of the finer details of the MagFlow Air 10K and its dual charging is the indicator lights. There are four lights across the bottom to show the available battery level—each representing 25%. But there’s a fifth light to denote wireless charging.

You can still stick the battery to the back of a phone for magnetic use and plug the phone in with the cable. The extra light is just a nice touch for some certainty about how the phone is being powered, to make sure you’re getting the fastest option.

There’s one annoyance for smaller phones

If you’re using the MagFlow Air 10K power bank with an iPhone Pro Max, then the battery should fit on the back because of its bigger size. In other words, it won’t stick off the bottom of the Pro Max as it does on my iPhone 17 Pro.

Among all the features, this is my single complaint with it. Measuring with a digital caliper, the MagFlow Air 10K sticks off the bottom of my 17 Pro about 6mm. It’s not enough to hinder use or make me not consider using it, but it’s worth noting.

Other 10,000mAh MagSafe batteries I’ve tested can also stick off the bottom edge slightly. This capacity size just takes more room.

Is the Ugreen MagFlow Air 10K worth buying?

The Ugreen MagFlow Air 10K retails for $79.99. At that price, it goes head-to-head with lots of other power banks from Anker, Mophie, Baseus, and Belkin. I like it for its integrated cable and reliable charging, but at full price, the value is a toss-up.

I have seen the MagFlow Air 10K as low as $54.99 on sale. At that price, it’s much more tempting as a travel companion that you can share with others or just always keep in your bag for trips and long days away from home.
