Hands-on with several Qi2 wireless travel chargers from Belkin, Anker, Ugreen, KUXIU, to see what the best option for most people is.

Tested: The best Qi2 25W wireless travel chargers to take on vacation

Are you looking for a wireless charger for your iPhone and Apple Watch to travel with? I’ve been testing some of the latest portable Qi2 25W devices and have some recommendations about which ones are worth actually spending money on.

The latest, most powerful 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 chargers can offer 25 watts of power just by magnetically connecting a compatible phone. Supported devices can go from 0% battery to 50% in about 30 minutes.

After testing tech gadgets for over a decade, I have thoughts about what makes a good travel charger. This list includes products from Belkin, Anker, Ugreen, and KUXIU. Each of these compact devices can charge an iPhone and an Apple Watch simultaneously. And four of them can also power AirPods, allowing them to charge three devices at once.

These are all small and powerful, but they aren’t exactly cheap. So, before you take the plunge on one, check out how they work and which one might be the right fit for you.

The best small wireless travel charger

The key spec for a portable travel charger is its size. Will it fit in your bag? It’s hard to dispute the KUXIU X40 Turbo as being the smallest of the bunch. This one measures 2.52 x 2.52 x 0.71 inches. It compares favorably, even against other small chargers.

  • Belkin UltraCharge Pro 2-in-1: 2.7 x 2.7 x 1.5 inches
  • Belkin UltraCharge 3-in-1 Foldable: 4.17 x 2.36 x 1.05 inches
  • Anker Prime Charging Station 3-in-1: 3.74 x 2.38 x 1.22 inches
  • Ugreen 3-in-1 Foldable Magflow: 2.36 x 4.76 x 0.81 inches

I’ve used the X40 Turbo on several trips, including one international one. It fits my tech pouch without making it too bulky. For people looking for the smallest charger that can handle multiple devices, this is the one to get.

The best 2-in-1 wireless travel charger

Even if you have an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods that you’ll need to charge while on the go, I don’t think most people actually need a 3-in-1 charger. AirPods with a wireless charging case can still charge wirelessly with an iPhone charger.

The latest AirPods can even be recharged wirelessly using an Apple Watch charger.

So, while the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 2-in-1 might not have three charging spots, I don’t think it needs them. I like this one because it’s compact with lots of adjustable hinges. It can be positioned in lots of ways to accommodate your phone and watch on nearly any type of nightstand.

The best functional wireless travel charger

The Belkin UltraCharge 3-in-1 Foldable can charge three devices at once, it’s compact, and it comes with a tiny 45W power adapter.

I like nearly everything about this powerful wireless charger. It can lie flat and charge any Qi device, or it can be propped up to hold an iPhone either vertically or horizontally. It’s not the smallest of the bunch, but it is sleek and should fit in most people’s travel bags.

For its power and functionality, this Qi2 25W wireless charger is also a pretty good value, even at full price. The 45W power adapter that comes in the box isn’t cheap. It’s powerful enough to fast-charge a MacBook Air. There’s even a braided USB-C cable that comes in the box.

The best 3-in-1 wireless travel charger

The Anker Prime Charging Station 3-in-1 is one of the few options to have active cooling. This means that there’s a fan tucked inside to keep the device and your phone as cool as possible. I haven’t experienced many of the other chargers getting overly hot, but I have noticed this Anker one remaining cool.

The great thing is that having active cooling doesn’t require much, or any, added bulk. The Prime Charging Station is among the most compact options. One of the other minor details I like is that there’s an indicator light on the side to confirm whether the device is charging or not.

Which Qi2.2 25W wireless charger should you buy for travel?

There are only a handful of certified Qi 2.2 25W wireless portable chargers on the market so far. I’ve tried most of them, and the good news is that most of them are pretty good. They’re all relatively compact and can power your phone at a fast speed.

Which one you should buy highly depends on your budget and how you plan to use it. For the money, I like the Belkin UltraCharge Pro 2-in-1 and the KUIXIU X40 Turbo. The Belkin one is versatile enough to use for almost any circumstance, while the X40 Turbo is just plain tiny and easy to pack. Both of these would make excellent vacation chargers.
