I've tested countless travel chargers, and the Ugreen Nexode Air 65W Charger balances size, speed, and convenience.

Size isn’t everything, but in the case of the Ugreen Nexode Air 65W Charger, its tiny size equals big space savings.

The size of laptop power adapters has shrunk over the last several years. There are several good small ones. And yet, when I saw the petite footprint of the Nexode Air 65W Charger, I was still thoroughly impressed. Now, the objective is to offer more power in a small package.

Although the Ugreen Nexode Air 65W is powerful enough to fast-charge a MacBook Air, it isn’t only for laptops. As a tech journalist frequently on the move, I immediately added it to my tech pouch for travel. It’s a pocketable charger that can power my phone, iPad, Nintendo Switch, or laptop.

Ugreen’s latest “Air” line of devices is all about shrinking the size while keeping the power. After a couple of weeks with the products, I think I’m sold.

The benefits of a tiny charger for travel

Having a small, powerful power adapter for travel is obvious. It means I can pack more in a smaller space. As a tech enthusiast, I like to bring multiple chargers with me on trips. One for the hotel, to plug in a 3-in-1 MagSafe charger on the nightstand, and another one to carry out and about. More realistically, someone else in the family will need one.

I’ve found the Nexode Air 65W Charger to be a perfect travel companion because it can handle any 3-in-1 charger I have. It’s also tiny enough to bring along in a crossbody sling without thinking twice.

Besides the size, there just aren’t many features to this product. The prongs fold, and the power throughput has been consistent in my tests. It weighs about 73 grams and measures 1.30 by 1.22 by 1.59 inches.

Frankly, in this case, simpler is fine. You could put a screen on a tiny charger, but, in this case, I think I prefer the extra power to charge devices faster.

The other brand new Air chargers from Ugreen

While the Nexode Air 65W Charger is the headliner of Ugreen’s new travel-friendly devices, it isn’t the only fresh face.

The MagFlow Air Magnetic Power Bank features 15W of Qi2 wireless power with a 10KmAh capacity. It includes an attached USB-C cable that securely hooks into the power bank. In my usage, the MagFlow Air worked well. It’s sleek and flexible, able to charge all kinds of devices either wirelessly or with its cable.

The other tiny charger is the Nexode Air 45W Charger Slim. This one offers less total power at 45W, compared to 65W, but in exchange, it’s even more compact, able to slide into a jeans front pocket without bulging out.

I’ve used both the Air 45W slim charger and the Air 65W. Each offers its own convenience in a slightly different shape. The slim charger will be available in June.

Is the Ugreen Nexode Air 65W Charger worth buying?

The Nexode Air 65W Charger retails for $40. At that price, it’s a worthwhile investment. It even comes with a five-foot braided USB-C cable. The charger can be used daily around the house to charge nearly anything. Where it really shines, however, is on the go. It can fit anywhere.

If the tiny 65W charger ever goes on sale, it will be a steal.
